The Lower Township and Wildwood Crest Court Office will be closed on Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th for Thanksgiving.
Effective, January 1, 2024, the Wildwood Crest Municipal Court will be heard at the Lower Township Municipal Court. Both courts will share services at the Lower Township Municipal Court, located in the Lower Township Public Safety Building at the Cape May Airport Complex.
Court will be held on the 1st and 3rd Fridays at 10am beginning January 26, 2024.
We are an independent branch of government constitutionally entrusted with the fair and just resolution of disputes in order to preserve the rule of law and to protect the rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States and this State.
INDEPENDENCE - INTEGRITY - FAIRNESS - QUALITY SERVICE
The Municipal Court has jurisdiction over cases within the municipalities they serve. This court serves the Township of Lower and the Borough of Wildwood Crest.
These cases include violations of municipal ordinances, violations of motor vehicle traffic laws, disorderly person's offenses, petty disorderly person's offenses and other non-indictable offenses, except where exclusive jurisdiction is given to the Superior Court.
Also included within this jurisdiction are violations of fish and game and weights and measures.
The Lower Township & Wildwood Crest Shared Municipal Court also hears cases originating from the Delaware River and Bay Authority stationed at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry.
